Google Inc. will stop censoring its search results in China and may pull out of the country completely after discovering that computer hackers had tricked human-rights activists into exposing their e-mail accounts to outsiders.
The change of heart announced Tuesday heralds a major shift for the Internet’s search leader, which has repeatedly said it will obey Chinese laws requiring some politically and socially sensitive issues to be blocked from search results available in other countries. The acquiescence had outraged free-speech advocates and even some shareholders, who argued Google’s cooperation with China violated the company’s “don’t be evil” motto.
The criticism had started to sway Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who openly expressed his misgivings about the company’s presence in China.

Google (SEO) Search Engine Optimization
A great site is useless unless people know where to find you. This is where search engine optimization services come in handy. The methods used to keep your site in the top pages of Google for a long time will depend on if you know how Google ranks it index. Since only the engineers employed by Google know the answer, it is up to the rest of us to speculate on what may work, and what we know doesn’t work.
Search Engine Optimization for Google
Read that again - Knowing what to do to your site in order for Google to properly recognize and categorize your site is the first step in achieving top rankings in Google. Internet Marketing SEO, and in particular, Google SEO is the key. The easier your make your site to be understood by Google, the better chances you’ll have of getting top spots in Google’s index. Google search engine marketing is the answer to getting your site found.
Google, the world’s number #1 Search Engine
If you made it to this site, chances are you found it using a search engine, and it was probably Google. Google currently dominates the Search Engine market partially because of its results, and more importantly, its “uncluttered” look. If you visit Yahoo or MSN there is so much information that it could easily overwhelm the typical AOL user.
The value of a top position in Google
What would you do if you were in one of the top spots in Google’s index for your most popular keyword? Do you realize that many millionaires have made their fortune by having a top rank in Google? Google is the most popular search engine in the WORLD and has no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Google Search Optimization has to be part of your marketing strategy.
Why is it so hard to get a top spot in Google?
Its not. By reading my book “SEO for Google”, I will show you ALL THE TECHNIQUES needed to get your site ranked on the first page in Google. Its not hard, but rather, KNOWING WHAT TO DO! It took me years of trial and error and many, many mistakes, but after constantly reviewing what worked and what didn’t, I finally stumbled onto the “secret” of getting top rankings from Google. Google Search Engine Marketing is a process that will get your site ranked.
The first Google Secret? THERE IS NO SECRET!
Don’t be fooled by companies claiming that they have “secret” to getting top placement in Google. The only secret is KNOWING what Google LOOKS for when they rank a site. It is guessed that there are over 100 separate components to Google’s Algorithm that determine how a site will appear when a user enters in a keyword.
By usinging Google’s own stratagy we can get you ranking on page one for your keywords within 60 days. Try is for that time……www.datatecXtra.com

Cygnus Instruments introduces the new “Cygnus Underwater” thickness gauge. For over 25 years, Cygnus Instruments has been the leading manufacturer of reliable, rugged underwater thickness gauges for divers carrying out maintenance inspections and corrosion checks. Developed with the Cygnus pioneered Multiple Echo technique, all Cygnus gauges ignore surface coatings and give only true, accurate measurements. This technique ensures that successive returning echoes precisely match and are thus error‐checked before a measurement is displayed. As a result, inspection time and costs are significantly reduced.
The new Cygnus Underwater is IPX8 rated, which allows continuous underwater operation up to 300 m depth. The new feature of “Deep‐Coat” mode facilitates measuring through even thicker coatings up to 20 mm thick. Other features include convenient calibration buttons, echo strength indication and automatic probe recognition (APR), which detects the probe type and optimises the electronics accordingly. The gauge benefits from a large, bright LED display for use in poor visibility conditions. When surface verification is required the Cygnus Underwater can be upgraded to include the topside display options and any length of umbilical cable up to 1000 m long. This upgrade is straight forward ‐ simply plug in the topside repeater and go! The standard kit includes 2 rechargeable NiMH battery packs, which give over 60 hours’ measuring time and eliminate down‐time for battery charging.
With the benefit of all these features, the new Cygnus Underwater is not just the lightest (950 g) and smallest (235 x 75 mm) underwater gauge available, but also the easiest to use for all typical underwater inspections: ship hulls, semi‐sub structures, subsea pipelines, offshore structures, jackets, piers, pilings, etc.

I wish. Well maybe not for me.
But seriously. We have had to invest in new hardware and a real person to compliment this new project. We should be content with actually having Virgin in our client stables (and eventually on our portfolio) but it must be getting round as we have had numerous enquiries from some big boys. But more about that when those eggs have hatched.
We have started the mockups of the site, working soley from our New York office, and their first reactions were very pleased !. So we are going in the right direction. We have to present complete page designs now so our creative guys have been let loose.
Still looking for design partners in NY who will work happily on joint ventures.

Perhaps a lesser-known style than retro or vintage, nowadays more and more chic interior designers are incorporating the usage of industrial furniture into their designs. It is common knowledge that, as a society, we are well adept at making that which is old new again. This is oft demonstrated when people are willing to spend copious amounts of time and money to find and obtain antique and vintage furniture pieces to complete and/or compliment their home décor. This tendency to recycle old ideas and incorporate the past into the present is rarely as apparent as when discussing the phenomenon of industrial furniture.
With industrial furniture, many items that may have once been considered unsalvageable or even to be junk can be recycled into attractive and fashionable furnishings. Items that were once destined to rust away in a scrap yard are now being salvaged, restored, and incorporated into beautiful and distinctive pieces of furniture, many so unique they could easily be considered art in and unto themselves.
They key to beautiful industrial furniture is to utilize old industrial machinery in a way that is both eye catching and functional. Some of the most attractive and sought after pieces of industrial furnishings are old industrial light fixtures and bases of large industrial machinery. You may find the bases recycled into table, chair, or lamp bases. They are always cleaned up and beautifully restored. There are many companies out there that make and sell custom industrial furniture. While the price may be higher that other contemporary forms of home furnishing, you are always guaranteed a unique and eye catching piece.
An alternative to purchasing premade industrial furniture is to seek out and find old industrial machinery scraps yourself, and use them as a starting point to create your own designs. Many times, you will be able to find a reputable restoring company that specializes in making these old pieces like-new. After you have beautified your industrial machinery find, you can then choose to either incorporate it into a piece of your own design and construction or contract the design and construction of your new industrial furniture to an individual or company that specializes in such work.

If you are looking for a new look for your home, you may be considering vintage or retro furniture. But, what is the difference between the two? In order to ensure that you get the best deals available when shopping for vintage furniture or retro furniture, it is important to understand what each one is and how to distinguish between the two.
Vintage furniture is furniture that is less than 100 years old (as opposed to antique furniture which is over 100 years old). On the other hand, “retro” refers to things associated with or revived from the past. This means that retro furniture is generally copied from vintage furniture, while not necessarily being vintage itself. Basically, in order to be considered vintage furniture an item must be from the 1980’s or earlier (but not more than 100 years old), while in order to be considered retro furniture, and item needs only look like an item from an earlier decade.
In fact, most “retro furniture” items are merely brand-new reproductions of true vintage furniture. This explains the large variations in price between seemingly similar vintage and retro furniture items. Generally speaking, items that are truly “vintage” will be more costly than items that are simply labeled “retro.”
When visiting furniture stores or galleries, one of the surest ways to ensure that you are getting a fair price on an item (other than doing your homework beforehand) is to ask the salesman or gallery owner to specify whether the piece is truly vintage furniture, or if it may be more accurately described as retro furniture. It is possible for an item to be vintage as well as retro, or retro as well as vintage, but that is not always the case, and assuming that a furniture item is both rather than either/or may cause you to spend unnecessarily on something just because you do not fully understand what you are looking at.
One of the best ways to fully understand the differences between retro furniture and vintage furniture is to check out the web sites of reputable vintage furniture or retro furniture dealers. Most of them have clear descriptions of both types of furniture, as well as links to external sites and sources that can help clear up your confusion. Or, you could simply make a trip to a local vintage or retro furniture dealer.
