Most small companies have even smaller beginnings and Pam ventured into the Spanish rental market in 1994. With two apartments to rent at Villacana close to Estepona on the Costa del Sol it soon became apparent that the demand for accommodation for a major part of the year far outstripped that provided by just two apartments. Initially the surplus was absorbed by other owners in a similar situation but a germ of an idea for a business was being born.
Pam Turner Ltd was formed in 1995 with the purpose of marketing privately owned properties in order to find rental clients for property owners. In 2002 the name was changed to Lets Try Spain Ltd which seemed more appropriate and reflected our website www.letstryspain.com
The aims of the Company are:
- For the client: to organize and provide suitable and well maintained holiday accommodation for families on the Costa del Sol.
- For the property owner: to provide good occupancy levels of course but also an efficient money collecting and key issuing service too. It was decided at an early stage not to retain owners money for six months which is not an unusual practice in this type of business but to pay out immediately.
To ensure that these aims are met the Company insists on inspecting all properties before adding them to our portfolio and reserves the right to carry out regular inspections. We work closely with those looking after the day to day running of each property and notify them promptly of arrivals and departures.
A Client Account is used into which all rental money is paid and all rental money has to be paid six weeks before arrival at the property. If it is not then the keys are not issued.
In 2008 we started accepting all major credit cards which are assured will generate more business.
The Company currently has a wide range of properties between Marbella and Estepona on the Costa del Sol: private villas with pools, 1 – 4 bedroom properties on developments with shared pools and town based apartments. Most are within walking distance of a beach and have close proximity to bar and restaurant facilities.

LET’S TRY SPAIN LTD (formerly PAM TURNER LTD) was formed in 1995, its sole purpose in life to find clients for property owners who had space to fill. The concept has proved attractive to those property owners who not only like the freedom of using their accommodation more flexibly but also of letting themselves should the opportunity arise.
Way back in those “sands” of time Pam was renting her own apartment on Villacana. It soon became apparent that many families wanted to come at the same time which was not only inconvenient but could have proved very cosy given the size of the apartment! Other property owners were roped in to take the surplus and so the seeds of a business were sown.
We do not manage houses, all owners must make their own arrangements to ensure that the accommodation is kept to an agreed standard, that linen and towels are changed weekly and are of a good quality and that repairs are carried out promptly. We work closely with the management companies engaged by the property owners - often they are “on-site” or companies who cover several developments or, as with one or two properties, owners themselves.
Feed back from renting families and our own visits to the accommodation help to ensure that standards are maintained.
We offer them client finding services and our aim is to introduce potential renting families to those who can supply holiday accommodation. Our “patch” is from just east of Marbella down to Andalucia, Estepona and westward. Our portfolio includes villas, townhouses and apartments mostly on developments with shared pools. Most of our properties are within easy walking distance of the beach but some are close to towns giving the added benefit of not having to drive around during your stay . If you are looking for a self catering holiday on the Costa del Sol in Spain then contact us and we will do all we can to help.
