Boutique Camping is a new and fresh tent manufacturer, aiming to have a different approach to camping. We make, supply, sell and hire our tents with an array of accessories that you may require to complete your bespoke camping experience. Our bell tents are 100% cotton canvass and are one of the lightest on the market weighing 285g psm rather than the 400g psm. This allows the tent breathe whilst also making it easier to transport. Boutique Camping is the first to launch a limited edition collection of four different colours; original natural sandstone and three fresh summer colours of Apple Green, Sky Blue and Sun-blushed Coral. Boutique Camping bell tents have zipped in ground sheets rather than a flappy separate ground sheet or none at all. This makes the tent secure, weather tight, and offers a quality finish to our products. After over 18 months in preliminaries, Datatec has finally started the development of the high level Company Management Software for Palmers Green International. Datatec personel along with their partnering company in the project, C3IT, have spent the last week in Accra, Ghana, completing a series of management meetings to compile required data.

Work on the software architecture will commence next week in earnest which is being built in Pune, India.

All parties involed are excited about the development and expect it to leads on to similar projects across Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Cygnus Instruments introduces the new “Cygnus Underwater” thickness gauge. For over 25 years, Cygnus Instruments has been the leading manufacturer of reliable, rugged underwater thickness gauges for divers carrying out maintenance inspections and corrosion checks. Developed with the Cygnus pioneered Multiple Echo technique, all Cygnus gauges ignore surface coatings and give only true, accurate measurements. This technique ensures that successive returning echoes precisely match and are thus error‐checked before a measurement is displayed. As a result, inspection time and costs are significantly reduced.
The new Cygnus Underwater is IPX8 rated, which allows continuous underwater operation up to 300 m depth. The new feature of “Deep‐Coat” mode facilitates measuring through even thicker coatings up to 20 mm thick. Other features include convenient calibration buttons, echo strength indication and automatic probe recognition (APR), which detects the probe type and optimises the electronics accordingly. The gauge benefits from a large, bright LED display for use in poor visibility conditions. When surface verification is required the Cygnus Underwater can be upgraded to include the topside display options and any length of umbilical cable up to 1000 m long. This upgrade is straight forward ‐ simply plug in the topside repeater and go! The standard kit includes 2 rechargeable NiMH battery packs, which give over 60 hours’ measuring time and eliminate down‐time for battery charging.
With the benefit of all these features, the new Cygnus Underwater is not just the lightest (950 g) and smallest (235 x 75 mm) underwater gauge available, but also the easiest to use for all typical underwater inspections: ship hulls, semi‐sub structures, subsea pipelines, offshore structures, jackets, piers, pilings, etc.

Sleeman & Hawken was formed in the late 1940’s by Bill Sleeman and Jack Hawken it has remained a family business – Keith Mason the current M.D. joined from school in 1968 and has remained “at the helm” for nearly 40 years.
Jack Hawken left Morgan Giles a shipyard in Teignmouth at the end of 1945 and worked for 6mths in Salcombe. Bill Sleeman and Jack Hawken decided to form a partnership in about March or April 1946. They started their business in French Street, Teignmouth in Devon, UK, where Bill had a bicycle shop. They traded there for a few months and then rented premises from the Quay Co on the dockside at Teignmouth. Once there, the business thrived. They both officially retired in 1968 but Jack continued to work there for another year or so.
